The name Kungsportsavenyen was the original one from the city plan changes on September 5, 1867. After many discussions and reversals in the decisions, about thirty well-known citizens of Gothenburg, tenants and house owners got together and demanded back \u003cem\u003eKungsportsavenyen\u003c\/em\u003e as the name of the new avenue when they had discovered that they would be obliged to new cost change of their addresses.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n \u003cp\u003eThe controversial thing that was the basis of the previous discussion was the designation avenue, which was perceived as foreign with a \"foreign feel\". The first parts of the avenue were built around 1872 through the Kalmarehus building. P \u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003earadgatan was dominated by large exclusive residential buildings, was an elegant and popular promenade that started at Kungsportsbron in the north and ended at Lorensbergs Park in the south.
