He was known for promoting nude culture or naturism, which advocates the minimal use of clothing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n \u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eNaturism was born at the beginning of the 20th century in Germany and France, and received a boost after the First World War. In 1932, Johan Almkvist published a book on the subject, which made him a public figure. He argued for nudism, as better resistance to infections and a de-dramatization of sexuality. Almkvist argued that total nudity would reduce erotic allure compared to partial undressing.
