About the pair
Monica Zetterlund and Cornelis Vreeswijk are among the voices that came to define Swedish music during the second half of the 20th century. She moved between jazz, ballad, and stage; he gave the Swedish ballad tradition a rougher, more narrative tone.
The portraits work together because they carry the same cultural weight without being alike. The elegant and the bohemian, jazz and ballad, meet in two personalities who still feel immediately present. The result is more than two artist portraits – it is a piece of Swedish cultural history.
