The film behind the Swedish title was Harold Lloyd’s first feature as an independent producer, following his years with Hal Roach. When Girl Shy was released in 1924, demand in Los Angeles was so great that the Criterion Theatre advertised screenings from 10 a.m. until midnight – every day.
