The story behind the motif
A fantastic poster with the painting Dancers Backstage created by Edgar Degas between 1876 and 1883. In the picture we see some ballet dancers behind the scenes. The young women wear pink dresses and have their hair up. To the right of the painting we see a man in a suit and top hat.
Edgar Degas was a French artist, graphic artist and sculptor. In addition to portraits, his early pictures were often history paintings. Later, Degas also became interested in modern Parisian life and was influenced by the artist Édouard Manet.
