Built from its predecessor
The tower from 1839 was quite literally built from its predecessor. When the first Djursten lighthouse, dating from the 1760s, was demolished, its stone was reused in the new tower, designed by J. T. Byström. In the lantern, the oil light was reinforced by eight parabolic brass mirrors – advanced lighthouse technology for Öregrundsgrepen.
