The story behind the motif
Poster with an old poster of a Gärdsmyg and two Kingbirds . The illustration was drawn by the von Wright brothers and published at the beginning of the 20th century in the book Swedish Birds After Nature Och På Sten Ritad . In the picture we see, among other things, the text Nannus troglodytes and Regulus regulus - the Latin name of the bird species.
Did you know that the kingfisher is Europe's smallest bird? It is about nine centimeters long and weighs only five to six grams!
Artist: The von Wright brothers | Created: 1929.
