From Berlin to the Cinema
The film behind the poster, the German silent comedy *Ledige Töchter*, was made in 1926. When it reached Sweden the following year, the Swedish poster was printed in Stockholm by J. Olséns litografiska anstalt for Biografernas Filmdepôt – a small trace of how a Berlin film found new life on Swedish cinema marquees.

The story behind the motif

Poster with Fästmör on Installment from 1926, a German comedy and film farce in 6 acts with Jenny Jugo and Charlotte Ander.

The original title is Ledige Töchter which translates to Unmarried Daughters. The film is based on a short story by Arthur Georg.

Jenny Jugo was an Austrian actress who made more than 50 films in her career and was awarded the German film award Filmband in Gold for her cumulative career.
