The story behind the motif
Poster with a captivating photograph of a silhouette standing with skis at Gjendesheim . The photo was taken by Paul Andreas Røstad - a Norwegian photographer who specialized in landscape and folk life images.
Gjendesheim is a tourist resort located in eastern Jotunheimen, in Vågå municipality in Oppland. Those who go on the popular mountain tour over Besseggen often start the tour in Gjendesheim. You have to choose between starting from Gjendesheim across the Besseggen to Memurubu, and from there take the liner back to Gjendesheim, or take the boat to Memurubu and cross the Besseggen back to Gjendesheim.
