When advertising became collectible
The poster entered the Kunstindustrimuseet collection the same year it was printed, 1909. That says something about the new status of advertising imagery: Lilleborg was among Norway’s early companies to invest systematically in brands, even though the company itself had existed only since 1897; the soap factory by the Akerselva, however, had roots dating back to 1842.
