From Photo Archive to Colour Lithograph
Two of Norway’s long-established image companies stood behind the poster: Mittet & Co, whose photographic archive from 1870–1970 was later taken over by Riksantikvaren, and Grøndahl & Søn, an Oslo printing firm founded in 1812. In 1952, Mittet’s photograph was transformed into a colour lithograph – a meeting between mass imagery and an old printing art.
