Six plates at a time
Henriette Sjöberg’s pear image belongs to an ambitious project to map Swedish fruit varieties in colour. The work was published in instalments from 1899 to 1912, with six plates at a time, and made her precise fruit studies known beyond Sweden. Sjöberg also taught at the Horticultural School of the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture.
