When Carlsten Went Dark
Work on Pater Noster continued in 1867–1868, amid a larger reorganisation of the approach to Marstrand. When the new lighthouse was lit on 1 November 1868, the light at Carlsten Fortress was extinguished at the same time, while a leading light was brought into service at the harbour’s northern entrance.

The story behind the motif
Poster with a beautiful drawing with the text: " To Pater Noster's Lighthouse. To be erected on Hamneskär within Marstrand's division of the Westra Lots district. Height of lighthouse above view = 120 feet. "

The drawing is signed at Stockholm Palace on July 10, 1867. It is also signed at the Lots- and Fyrinrätningens Ingenjör-kontor June 1867. At the bottom on the left we also see the text: " In 1868 this lighthouse was erected in perfect accordance with this drawing. signed by V von Heidenstam work manager" .
