Satire of the Congress of Berlin
The print was published on 28 July 1878 as a colour supplement to the political satirical newspaper Le perroquet, just weeks after the Congress of Berlin. Augusto Grossi used the then-new promise of flight to turn European diplomacy into an unsteady spectacle—a joke fuelled by remarkably fresh news.
