A pocket-sized Christmas book
The illustration comes from the small 1936 Christmas book Sagoprinsessan – the twenty-second year of a recurring publication. Maja Synnergren shared the illustration commission with three other artists, while the book collected stories by four authors. At 15.5 centimetres, it was made for Christmas reading rather than for the splendour of a bookshelf.

The story behind the motif
Poster with a beautiful illustration from Sagoprinsessan , a storybook published in 1936. In the picture we see a young princess feeding animals in the forest.
The wonderful drawings from Sagoprinsessan are created by Maja Synnergren, a Swedish drawing teacher, painter and cartoonist. Maja became known primarily as a fairy tale illustrator and children's portraitist. At the bottom right we see Maja's signature.
