A Policeman Since 1914
Carl Arvid Per Eijer had already served with the Stockholm police force since 1914 when the portrait was made in the early 1940s. Alongside his police career, he was a sergeant major in the reserve of the Kronoberg Regiment and had completed the police academy’s advanced course.

The story behind the motif

Black and white poster with a handsome portrait of the Swedish police commissioner Carl Eijer. The photo was taken outside a police station in Stockholm in 1941.

In the picture we see Eijer with his uniform and a uniform cap with a well-polished emblem above the screen. He commands respect and can be considered a good representative of the Swedish police force.
