Silent Film on the Threshold of Sound
The film behind the image, the 1928 British Tesha, emerged at the very moment of the transition to sound film. It was first shot as a silent film, but in June 1929 received a synchronized musical score by Harry Gordon – still without dialogue. A sound film that was still silent, though not quiet.
