The story behind the motif
Canvas with a beautiful painting created in 1874 by French artist Claude Monet. In the bottom right of the picture, we also see Monet's signature.
The painting is called The Bridge at Argenteuil and depicts a bridge over the Seine in Argenteuil - a town outside Paris where the Monet family lived from December 1871 to 1878.
Claude Monet was born in 1840 in Paris and was, along with Auguste Renoir, one of the main pioneers of Impressionism. Monet's work Impression. Sunrise from 1872 gave the name to the movement.
