When the catalogue cover was printed in 1906, NK had existed for only four years – and had not yet moved to its department store on Hamngatan. The company was a merger of Joseph Leja and K.M. Lundberg; the Hamngatan building did not open until 22 September 1915.

The story behind the motif

Poster with a vintage illustration of the cover for AB Nordiska Kompaniet's product catalog. The catalog was published in the spring of 1906 and on the cover we see a woman in a sailor's dress.

The company Nordiska Kompaniet was founded in 1902 by the merger of the two largest retail companies in Stockholm, KM Lundberg and firm Joseph Leja .
